The farmers at Aguthi Cooperative Society have consistently produced amazing quality coffees and we are excited to share with you our favourite lot from the most recent harvest.
This co-op was established to give smallholder farmers access to milling equipment, and the ability to sell their coffee to the international market. In 2019, Carbonic Maceration infrastructure and new drying beds were constructed by Project Origin as a commitment to further improve their coffees.
This lot #124 has amazing flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry jam with aromatic florals of vanilla and violets! All the fruit flavour was developed using extended whole cherry fermentation in tanks, but is refined and elegant due to the double washing and thin drying techniques used after the cherries are removed.
