Emilio runs El Manzano, a farm which has been in his family since 1872. Since 2005, he has expanded farm operations by replanting new varieties and experimenting with different processes which has led him to producing some of the best lots coming out of El Salvador, where he has taken out both first and second place in the 2018 COE.
The SL-34 variety was discovered by Scott Labbs in the 1930's, a company hired by the Kenyan government to survey and catalogue different coffee varieties suited for commercial development. Like the SL-28 this coffee is complex with flavours that are typically associated with fine Kenyan coffees yet it tends to thrive better at slightly lower altitudes.
We hope you enjoy Emilio's coffee, we found it super sweet with different flavours ranging from blackcurrant, honey, yellow peach to orange candy.
